Lisa Clouse

Lisa is a New Jersey Licensed Social Worker and a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor. She holds a Standard Certificate as a School Social Worker. Lisa has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology with a Minor in Dance from Montclair State University. Lisa has a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Kean University.

 

She has a well-rounded background and has demonstrated many abilities working in Social Work and Counseling with adults, adolescents, children, families, and groups.  Lisa has worked intensely with diverse populations of people with various needs, specifically those with substance abuse and addiction related issues, mental health issues, and with developmental disabilities. Lisa has over 20 years of a wide variety of community-based experience working with a wide range of clients and patients, agencies, organizations, schools, hospitals, standard outpatient, intensive outpatient, nonprofit programs, community services, shelter and outreach, support groups, and in-home settings in multiple communities, and counties in New Jersey.  One of Lisa’s highlighted accomplishments was recognition as a Program Coordinator by the State of NJ Child Assault Prevention.

 

Using a Holistic Therapy approach when working with mental health and substance abuse issues she utilizes an integrative approach with Eclectic Therapy. And, she often uses different techniques from various therapies including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Interventions, Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centered Therapy, and Interpersonal Therapy. These therapeutic practices are used to treat addiction recovery and relapse prevention, aging, Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD) and (ADD), anxiety, anger, career and job stress, chronic pain, codependency, college stress, depression, divorce, family conflicts, gambling, geriatrics and seniors, grief and loss, infidelity, life transitions, men’s issues, relationships, self-esteem, spirituality, sports performance, and sportsmanship, stress, substance abuse, trauma, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and women’s issues.

Lisa is enthusiastically learning about various cultures worldwide and their healing traditions and techniques. And, she continues expanding her passions such as doing Zumba, Kickboxing, studying Yoga, and Nutrition for healing; and is inspired by nature and the outdoors.
