  • How can therapy help me?
    By discussing your emotions with a trained professional who has experience with a variety of issues you'll better understand your feelings and have a clearer perspective on what's going on in your life. These sessions may be emotionally cathartic for the patient.
  • What kinds of individuals seek counseling?
    People of all ages, stages, and abilities seek counseling services for help with any concerns.
  • Do you see families?
    Yes. We can see you individually or together to help provide support and wellbeing to your whole family.
  • Do you have services geared toward children?
    We have counselors trained to help children as young as 3 years old. We offer play therapy, family therapy, and creative arts therapy. We also offer 504 and IEP advocacy. Whatever your child needs we are here to help.
  • Are you LGBTQ+ Friendly?
    Yes. Not only do we have counselors who specialize in LGBTQI+ issues, but our entire staff is friendly and respectful to everyone. You are a person first. Whether you are open, choose not to disclose; whatever your chosen pronouns are, you are free to bring your whole self to our office with no judgement.
  • Do you offer Sexual Health therapy?
    We have staff that are trained in women's and men's health, consensual non-monogamy, and other consensual kinks and fetishes. We offer a no judgment zone where you are free to discus the complexity of your sexuality.

  • Do you take Medicare or Medicaid (NJ Family Care)?
    At this time, we do not accept Medicare or Medicaid insurance. We do have reasonable self-pay options. Feel free to call our office or reach out via our contact page.
  • Can I pay for sessions out of pocket?
    Self-pay sessions are negotiable. Feel free to call our office or reach out via our contact page to discuss payment options.
  • Why does Perlman Counseling require a credit card on file?
    Perlman Counseling and Supervision Services LLC. has a credit card on file policy. All patients, except self-paying patients with Medicaid or Medicare, are required to have a credit card on file with us to ensure their accounts remain current. Co-insurance payments, deductibles, co-payments, No Show/Late Cancellation fees will be charged to this payment method unless another form is received at the time of the scheduled appointment or prior arrangements have been made with Perlman Counseling and Supervision Services LLC. This not only ensures that your account remains current and doesn't become delinquent, but also provides the patient with peace of mind knowing that they will not have unpaid account balances.
