*October UPDATE* Cost Shares Waived for non-COVID-19 telehealth visits for Some Insurance Plans

UPDATE***For Horizon BCBSNJ clients, from March 17, 2020 until 90 days after the public health emergency and State of Emergency declared by the Governor, there will be no cost-shares during this time for teletherapy sessions at Perlman Counseling. Please note the Federal Blue Cross and Blue Shield cost-shares are NOT waived. If your Blue Cross/Blue Shield Plan is based out of state, please go to the website on the back of your insurance card to find out if cost-shares are waived. There are currently no cost shares for patients with Horizon BCBSNJ insurance at Perlman Counseling at this time.


UPDATE***Effective throughout the entire duration of the New Jersey's public health emergency, AmeriHealth is waiving all cost-shares for non-COVID-19 telehealth visits with participating in-network providers for fully insured groups and individual members from March 06, 2020 until 90 days after the end of both the state of emergency and the public health emergency related to COVID-19. There are currently no cost shares for patients with AmeriHealth insurance at Perlman Counseling at this time.


UPDATE***Effective May 28, 2020, Geisinger Health Plan will waive all cost-shares for all non COVID-19 telehealth visits with participating in-network providers until December 31, 2020. There are currently no cost shares for patients with Geisinger Health Plan insurance at Perlman Counseling at this time.


UPDATE***Effective March 31, 2020, UnitedHealthcare, UnitedHealthcare Oxford, UMR will waive all cost-shares for all-non COVID-19 telehealth visits with participating in-network providers through September 30, 2020. Cost shares have resumed for these plans at Perlman Counseling as of October 1, 2020.


For Aetna clients, from March 6, 2020 through December 31, 2020, all cost shares for in-network telehealth mental health counseling services. There are currently no cost shares for patients with Aetna insurance at Perlman Counseling at this time.


Effective March 3, 2020, Humana (Commercial; NOT Tricare East) is waiving all cost-shares for Telehealth services for participating/in-network providers for the remainder of the calendar year. There are currently no cost shares for patients with Humana (commercial) insurance at Perlman Counseling at this time.


Effective March 18, 2020, 1199SEIU will waive cost-shares for all non-COVID-19 telehealth visits for HOME CARE FUND MEMBERS ONLY. There are currently no cost shares for patients with 1199SEIU insurance at Perlman Counseling at this time.


Effective March 18, 2020, Tricare East will waive cost-shares for all non-COVID-19 telehealth appointments for in-network providers. These temporary changes went into effect on May 12 in the U.S. and will be in place until the end of the president’s declared national emergency. Starting March 10, the changes went into effect overseas. There are cost shares for Tricare insurance holders at this time. Perlman Counseling is Tricare certified, not in-network with Tricare East. We are currently in the final steps of becoming an in-network provider with Tricare East and soon there will be no cost-shares for patients with Tricare East.


If any other insurances waive any cost-shares, we will update this post.


If any existing patients have paid any form of cost-share for during the respective period and they shouldn't have according to their insurance company, we can hold on to the payment and apply it to the next visit that a cost-share would apply.
