So far, Aetna and Horizon have waived all cost shares that include copays, deductibles, co-insurance for all qualified in-network Telehealth visits, including teletherapy, for a period time.

For Horizon clients this means that from March 17, 2020 through June 13, 2020, there will be no cost shares during this time for teletherapy sessions at Perlman Counseling.

For Aetna clients this means that from March 11, 2020 through June 4, 2020, there will be no cost shares during this time for teletherapy sessions at Perlman Counseling.

If any existing patients with Horizon or Aetna health insurance have paid any form of cost share for during the respective period, we can hold on to the payment and apply it to the next visit that a cost-share would apply (after the respective date in June 2020).

If any other insurances waive any cost-shares, we will update this post.

UPDATE*** Effective March 3, 2020, Humana (Commercial; NOT Tricare East) is waiving all cost-shares for Telehealth services for participating/in-network providers. There is currently no date that this temporary policy will end.

UPDATE****Effective March 31, 2020, UnitedHealthcare and UnitedHealthcare Oxford will waive all cost-shares for all non COVID-19 telehealth visits with participating/in-network providers until June 18, 2020.

UPDATE****Effective throughout the entire duration of the New Jersey's public health emergency, AmeriHealth is waiving all cost-shares for non COVID-19 telehealth/telemedicine visits with participating/in-network providers.

YES! You heard that right! We know that COVID-19 has brought forth financial burden for some people. So we wanted to post about a major opportunity that many Americans are seizing to offset some of the burden.

Many banks are offering deferments and other financial options during the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States!

Most major auto-lenders are offering some type of relief during this pandemic. For example, Ally financial is deferring payments for up to 120 days and all you have to do is login to your account to sign up for the deferment option.

Some banks and automakers may require a phone call to make arrangements while others will not.

Please note that interest may still accrue and the arrangements are up to the lender's discretion so not all options will be the same. However, this is something worth looking into.

We will continue to post any and all the information we can find in the upcoming weeks about any financial bailouts for Americans. This may include posts about stipends, loan and bill deferments, etc.

Be sure to subscribe to get updates about when we post to stay informed! STAY WELL!

Are you stressed out from the lack of social interaction that you used to have before the quarantine? Cabin Fever...Imprisoned...Plague Dread. These are all terms to describe the anxiety, fear, stress, sadness, depression, loneliness, frustration, and anger that many of us are feeling during this quarantine. Between working from home, lay offs, helping the kids with school, the lack of social interaction, and being in close confines with your family or roommates, this isn't always an ideal situation for everyone.

We hear you. Social distancing is difficult.

In order to interact with people outside of our homes, we are proposing two new therapy/support groups for existing patients to combat these feelings of isolation and stress.

The first group we are proposing is strictly for healthcare and medical professionals. These people are our heroes right now. They are in a unique position as nurses, doctors, professionals, and other support staff during the COVID-19 pandemic; they are essential workers and are under an extreme amount of stress and are risking their safety for us.

The second group is essentially for everyone else: the moms and dads, the grandparents, the teachers, the "non-essential" business owner and employee, and those working from home.

Both groups will be done on doxy.me and will have the ability to vent the angers and frustrations, laugh, cry, and to potentially make friendships that can continue long after the quarantine is over. Essentially we have the ability to support each other and not be alone during this difficult time.

If this is something you are interested in, text Rachel, let her know during your next session, or email Justin at jmyhre@perlmancss.com.
